[WEEKEND READS] where I finished a new fave!

#currentlyreading
Hello,

You know I was in a reading slump early this year and it was horrible. HORRIBLE! But when I picked up the disappointing but intriguing book, NEED, I was over it! But I wasn't so sure I was over it. But when I finished The Nightingale yesterday, I knew I was done with that horrible slump. The Nightingale is definitely one of my fave books right now! And certainly my fave historical fiction, at the moment.

Also #weekendreads is late because I've been busy and exhausted. I'm still not used to this internship thing from Monday to Friday then class at uni on Saturday THEN family-stuff on Sunday. no time to breathe, people. I wasn't able to visit a lot of blogs these past few days which sucks. But things will go smoothly soon, I'm sure of it 😊

recent reads

The Nightingale | Kristin Hannah
tHIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING!!
Check out my twitter thread over here. My full review will be up soon~

current reads

Station Fosaan (Torch World series #1) | Dee Garretson
I'm reading this book for a blog tour and so far it just isn't working out for me. I might not post a review for the tour unless magical unicorns jump right out of this book (which I think is highly impossible. but who knows? it might be some ultimate plot twist~)

Revival | Stephen King
I've read a good amount of pages for this one yesterday. At first, I just don't even know what to expect anymore since I'm halfway through and still have not idea how it's going to end. But after last night's read, I'm still a bit confused on where it's heading but somehow, I can see something. And honestly, I like this book but it's not something I'll be gushing over once I'm done with it. BUT finishing this would definitely make me want to pick up another Stephen King novel so throw me your recommendations! I'm definitely ready for them, I think.

The Season of You & Me | Robin Constantine
My first book for #bookentine. Also my first Robin Constantine novel. Also, I'm surprisingly liking it. I mean not in a fangirling, going crazy, lOVING it kind of way. I'd say that it just feels like some cliche romance - really sweet and light and predictable. Also, they mentioned nECK DEEP. I had to fangirl when they mention one of the bands I LOVE.

next reads

The Secret Language of Sisters | Luanne Rice
This is my second book for #bookentine. A book from an author I've never read before. I picked this book up because #sisters! We NEED more books featuring sisters/siblings. Really. Also, can anyone send me recommendations of books featuring a main character with middle child syndrome? (ya know, middle children? feeling like a problem child? left out? and stuff like that? thanks!).

Rose Petal Graves (the Lost Clan #1) | Olivia Wildenstein
This is for a blog tour. I've read Olivia Wildenstein's Masterful duology and enjoyed it. This one's fantasy though. Crossing my fingers I enjoy it. I'll read this once I'm done with Station Fosaan.

no anime marathons on this post 'cause I'm busy. but I have seen a couple of episodes from Shirobako and Cheer Danshi!! this past week. I also finished Nanbaka last week. But I won't have my thoughts for those 'cause #busy.

HOW ABOUT YOU

  1. Glad you're enjoying you're first bookentine read! I enjoyed mine too but I can't say it was anything special. I'll have to try and read the season of you and me at some point. I've heard about it for a while. Sometimes I just need a fluffy read to get me through a reading slump or something. My next read is going to my heart and other black holes, I've heard good things about it so I'm hopeful! Good luck with the rest of the read-a-thon!

    1. I'd definitely buy fluffy reads now just so I can take a break from all the heavy books I have. It might also help in getting lesser sucking reading slumps. Thanks, Kirsty! I definitely won't be able to complete it now but I'll still finish my tbr :D

  2. I've had a copy of Nightingale forever ( I still haven't read it). It sounds like that needs to change. It's been recommended to me by a lot of bloggers! You're one of the many who fell in love with it.

    1. You should read it soon (soon, as in now!)! It's another heartbreaking WWII novel and I just can't get over it (and maybe for the next couple more months!).

  3. So happy to hear you're over your slump. Isn't it funny that sometimes a bad book can help you get over a slump? Happy Valentine's!

    1. I know, right? I was quite surprise myself. It was a good book though but some parts just irritated me. Belated Happy Valentines to you, Alicia!

  4. It sounds like you have a really busy schedule. It can be really hard to juggle everything. I am glad you enjoyed The Nightingale. I really should add that one to my TBR list.

    1. and I can't seem to adjust to it. I really suck at managing my time. You should!! It's easily on my fave even before I finish it. It's just so lovely and heartbreaking and full of strong women and the ending is too beautiful!
