JULY WRAPUP (aka the month of taking a down time )

Hi,

I am back!!

I disappeared in the first week of July generally because my laptop broke down. It was down for a week and I stayed with my older sister for that time. I read a bit but generally we spent a good amount of time together.

The week I got my laptop fixed. I ended up installing The Sims 4 and my life ended up revolving around it. Made 2 Sims characters. Got my one of them to go to uni and get a degree on Computer Science. His sister, who's a bestselling author, recently died. His wife is expecting their 4th child and has a really well tended garden. Damn, fictional life is fun. lol.

Then the other day (today as I'm writing this, July 26), I decided that I need to be productive once again and put this Sims life on the side for a while. So now, here I am drafting blog posts while watching old LiSA concert because why not. I missed this productive life.

I have wild book related art plans. I'll definitely share them here soon. For now, I'm drawing my doggies. Check my art accounts right here: Instagram & Facebook

On bookish things, I read a good amount of books this month. I've finished 6 books which is so unreal since I had a bit of stuck up in the middle of it. I thought I can sneak in another one but I struggled a bit with the last one and I'm still trying to get back to reading in my Kindle app. I'm currently reading Sorry I Missed You there. It's an okay read. Nothing very interesting. Just fun stuff.

books read

Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand | Evernight (Evernight #1) by Claudia Gray | Night Film by Marisha Pessl | Stargazer (Evernight #2) by Claudia Gray | Sekret (Sekret #1) by Lindsay Smith | Incendiary by Chris Cleave

quick thoughts right here with their respective Popsugar prompts👇
Sawkill Girls - an okay read for me. It took me a while to really get into it. I think it's an interesting concept and I LOVE the Ace rep.
Evernight - this is a reread in preparation for reading the final book which is part of my July TBR.
Night Film (by or about a journalist) - took me forever to read this one and I hate myself for that! I LOVED THIS!!! Hopefully review soon!
Stargazer - book 2 in the Evernight series. I sped through this like the first book. It was kinda better than the first book and it kind of expounded on the world but still not a fan of this series. lol.
Sekret (touched on a shelf with your eyes closed) - disappointed that I didn't enjoy this. It has an interesting premise to be honest. Probably if I read it when I first got it, I probably got into it but not at this point.
Incendiary (set in city that hosted the Olympics) - I unexpectedly liked this. I like the writing and somehow I like the story. There were parts that I naturally didn't like. Flawed characters would really be like that. Probably review soon. We'll see.

  1. I was just over at your Instagram. I LOVE THE CATS!!! So cute! I give all people doing the Pop Sugar challenge respect. Some of those prompts were tough. I am sure I could find A book for each, but I am not sure they would be books I really want to read.

    1. THANK YOU, Sam!! It's my first time to actually take this Popsugar Challenge seriously and it's working out well for me :) I'm picking books I really want to read or books that are already on my tbr shelf so that's all good :)

    1. I always choose the wild life in Sims. lol.
I tried the Popsugar Challenge a few years back but got too lazy for it and never really cared much about the challenges but when I really looked into it, I found that they're actually very doable and all of the books I've read so far are books that are already on my physical tbr shelf :)
