The good boy has gone rogue.
The Duet Novel to The Name of Red.
Kabir's story continues in this dark, twisty, and steamy sequel.
There’s only so many times a heart can break.
One day, it will be okay, but it'll heal all wrong.
It’ll heal with you outside of it.
Eight months gone, and Kabir still hasn’t moved from the woman he still loves.
Red.
The name like a song on replay in his mind. He looks for her in other women but is left empty every time he wakes up in the morning. Gone is the good boy image he once had, instead it's replaced with a reckless playboy. He has the list of “Things To do” that Red left for him and placed it on his refrigerator, but he doesn’t know how to complete the tasks.
Because some secrets are too big to bury.
Ghosts from his past come forward forcing him to confront himself and his lifestyle. His best friend Nadia left him and cut off all contact, but now she returns in his life. He has to face these ghosts without losing himself completely.
The sequel can be read without reading the first book. A story of healing, love, and pure chemistry that will make you add Kabir to your list of book boyfriends.
I liked the first book. but this one, not as much.

I read the first book in this series in August and I find Red and Kabir's love story to be absolutely beautiful. They have their flaws, I was frustrated at times, then ultimately loving both of them at the end. And also, how can you not enjoy a romance between two book readers? Their first interactions were really adorable!! (See my review here!!).

[WEEKEND READS] where I FINALLY got a drawing tablet and more physical books!!

Hi,

It's been a while.

Few life updates...
(1) I went out last weekend to see my book best friend, I got a drawing tablet (he sold it to me for almost half the price. prob 40% off the actual price)!! I've tried it and it's so comfy to draw with it!!!
(2) Aside from the drawing tablet, I also got a good amount of books from him. I returned 15 books to him and got 6 new books to read. Including the Chaos Walking trilogy!! Excited for that!!!
(3) I also dropped by the bookstore and had to get at least a book. SO I bought Crazy Stupid Bromance, the third book in the Bromance Bookclub series. They don't have the 2nd book in stock so I ended up grabbing this one. lmao. Please do let me know if it's okay to read this without reading the 2nd book.
(4) Christmas this Friday? I'm so excited for that! I've wrapped gifts. I'll spend the holiday with my family and my aunts, uncles, and cousins on my mother's side of the family which is what we usually do (and generally because we live so close by).

10 Books I Must Read Before the Year Ends

Hi,

It's the FINAL TBR! and it's late but we're still going to roll with this. I've already read one of these so that's productivity I'm telling you. lmao.

This month, I decided to pick out 2 books for each of my TBRs until October. Since I started this monthly TBR in June, I picked out books from then until my October TBR. Doing this has been fun and I'm doing it again next year. I've already written down some monthly prompts I'll follow. So I'm excited for that.

Not doing descriptions for this one just because I already talked about them before. lmao. Tell me which of these I should get into before the year ends! Also just for updates, I'm done with Dr. Jekyll and Hyde and I'm currently reading The Bookish Life of Nina Hill (and I'm LOVING IT!).

NOVEMBER WRAPUP (aka the month of more rough things)

Hi,

This is such a late wrapup but we're still gonna roll with it because why not.

November was not kind and I was not happy. We're not going back to that. Not much here but here's some.

Also, not a November thing but early December (December 3rd I believe), I did something that isn't very much like me. If you've read my acknowledgement of my feelings for my best friend, then here's a major followup to that. Probably the pandemic did this to me and being apart from my best friend for so long pushed me to do this. But I finally confessed my feelings and it didn't end the way I wanted to (aka the two of us in a relationship. I'll probably write a more personal post about this at some point). That sucks but whatever. We're still talking and all. It's like nothing happened so it lowkey unsettles me. We'll see each other probably late December or early January (and it's going to be the first time we'll see each other since the pandemic started! We talk every single day though). So whatever with that. I did cry if that's worth mentioning (probably not) and giving myself time to just be dramatic over it allowed myself to be okay with actually still talking to him like how we really are. I considered returning all his things back including stuff he gave me. But I reconsidered it after I rechecked myself at how I am with still interacting with him and generally, I'm good.

[REVIEW] The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

title: The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
author: Stuart Turton
genre: adult, mystery
published: October 1st 2018 by Raven Books
my copy: paperback, 505 pages
purchase: Amazon | B&N | Book Depository | Fully Booked
rating: 4.0 / 5 stars

At a party thrown by her parents, Evelyn Hardcastle will be killed - again.
She's been murdered hundreds of times, and each day, Aiden Bishop is too late to save her. The only way to break this cycle is to identify Evelyn's killer. But every time the day begins again, Aiden wakes in the body of a different guest. And someone is desperate to stop him ever escaping Blackheath...
an enjoyable mystery read!

I've had this on my shelf since it was released and I was too scared to read it because I've read nothing but good things about it (some faults yes, but generally it was well loved) and it's such a thick book (and I'm not a fan of thicc books). I invited my best friend to buddy read this with me and I had a fantastic time with it.
