[TOP TEN TUESDAY] 10 Authors I NEED to Meet (once i overcome my awkwardness)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted at the Broke and the Bookish
Hello,

This week's prompt: Top Ten Authors I'm Dying To Meet / Ten Authors I Can't Believe I've Met

I know I just wrote about authors but you know, I just can't pass this prompt when I saw everyone doing it (yes, I wrote this really quick 'cause I'm jealous). ANYWAY, this is list is also my fave authors list ('cause don't we all want to meet our fave authors? I know I do even though I'd probably just stand there like a freak and not say anything because I'm awkward like that. literally. happened before, hahaha. I suck).

*life update though: i'll start blog hopping and replying to comments for real by April. i still have a few obligations to do like thesis revisions and finishing my internship. i'll see you guys soon! once again, thanks for keeping up with me. also, i was surprised to see an increase of followers over the course of my blogging break. thanks so much you guys! 😘

Agatha Christie (And Then There Were None, Hercule Poirot).
I've only read around five books by her but hopefully by the end of 2017 I can get that to around 10. Queen of Mystery, anyone? I LOVE mystery and Agatha Christie never fails to surprise me. My fave is definitely And Then There Were None and my fave Christie-detective is definitely Hercule Poirot. But I did enjoy that one Superintendent Battle book I read. I definitely need to read more of that. Also, her books were masterfully written. No clues left unexplained and she always, ALWAYS, misleads me (like I knew, I really do!, who the suspect is but she misleads me ALL THE BLOODYDAMN TIME). She's dead but meeting her might have been amazing though.
Neal Shusterman (Unwind Dystology, Challenger Deep).
I said last time that I'll make a list of Shusterman novels then tick-off those I've read so I can make sure I read them all. But I haven't done that. I'm a slacker, I know. ANYWAY, I've read 7 books by Shusterman and I still have like 4 on my tbr shelf and a dozen more I haven't bought. He basically writes the best character developments, in my opinion and the Unwind Dystology's world was just AMAZING and felt so well-thought-of. Also, he writes thought-provoking books. He's my all time fave author and meeting him would probably be one of the best days of my life (but I'm an #internationalreader and Neal Shusterman isn't particularly 'popular' --by that extremely overrated-- in my place).
Pierce Brown (Red Rising Trilogy).
We've talked about this before but Pierce Brown's Red Rising trilogy is one of my all time (or possibly my #1 fave) book series. The world, the characters, the development, the twists, the pace, and the ending are all marvelous. Also, he looks like a fun person to talk to and be with -- his instagram posts make him look fun, ya have to admit that.
Ruta Sepetys (Between Shades of Gray, Salt to the Sea).
She has written three books so far and I've read them all! Devour them all! My favorite is still Between Shades of Gray, her first novel. She actually inspired me to highly consider writing a historical novel. I haven't started or really put anything into writing but the idea is just there. hanging in the air. I have specific historical events in my country's (the Philippines) history that I'd like to write and be known by others. So meeting Ruta Sepetys would really be an amazing thing!
Lisi Harrison (The Clique Series, Pretenders Series).
Her books aren't exactly my faves right now but she was the author that brought me to reading so she ended up being an auto-buy author for me. Literally. I even read the entire Monster High series that she wrote. Meeting were would definitely be amazing and I would thank her so much because The Clique Series was my first book series 😊

Kristin Hannah (The Nightingale).
I'd LOVE to meet Kristine Hannah just based on this one book I read from her. It's a masterpiece, I tell you. I will, of course, read other books by her as I've seen A LOT.
Marie Lu (Legend Trilogy, The Young Elites).
Honesty, I don't remember much about Legend aside from the fact that I love it so much I shoved it to my younger sister and forced her to sit down and read it (okay, not exactly like that but ya know what I mean). She went to the Philippines one time but I wasn't able to go. I'm a very pre-occupied person, okay? But when I do get to meet her and manage not to be weird and awkward, I'd be like: can I tell you how much I admire your awesomeness on both writing and drawing. especially drawing. you're so amazing!! AMAZING!
Marissa Meyer (The Lunar Chronicles).
I haven't started Heartless which is shameless of me (basically because I was excited af for it but when i got it i just placed it on my shelf. i suck.). ANYWAY, meeting and talking to Marissa Meyer would probably exciting because she also watches anime. Just, how awesome is that? Anime is basically another things I LOVE and if you do not know, I used to blog about it (and I will probably do that again in the future. who wants that? 🙋).
J.K. Rowling (Cormoran Strike Series).
Don't hate me but I've NEVER read the Harry Potter Series and I'm here to meet J.K. Rowling to tell her how much I love her Cormoran Strike series and how it brought me to crime fiction and how in the hell was she able to pull off an entirely different series from Harry Potter? and I'd like her to teach me how to write sassy and witty tweets. lol.
Ohba Tsugumi (Bakuman, Death Note).
I just had to sneak this in. I mean he's the WRITER for Bakuman and Death Note and mangakas are authors. AND don't you wonder about the person behind these two hit series in JUMP? I've always been curious as to what kind of person he is since he wrote an entirely different yet similar manga series. They feel the same but they're entirely different in terms of tone and themes and such. Also, last time I check, he hasn't reveal his face and all. I even read conspiracies from other fans. lol. just some amusing stuff out there.

also, i just realize that i write lengthy, fangirling posts. i bet you people don't even read them but whatever. i enjoyed writing it anyway 😁

HOW ABOUT YOU
Have you met your favorite authors? What did you tell them? If you haven't, who are your favorite authors? Do we have the same ones?

  2. Hercule Poirot is my favorite of Christie's detectives too! I'm currently rereading through all the Hercule Poirot books in publication order. I love the audiobooks narrated by Hugh Fraser.

  6. Ah, I would have loved the opportunity to meet Agatha Christie! I think meeting Neal Shusterman would be incredible also, I feel like there he would be a really neat person to talk to. In all honest, I'm so shy around authors that I'd probably have no idea what to say! Great list!

  7. Ooh nice! Lots of new to me ones! Except for Marie Lu and Marissa Meyer! I met Marie for the first time, like two years ago I think. She was so nice! And Marissa is really nice as well! She came to my city last year for the fall Fierce Reads tour. Sadly, Heartless hadn't been available yet, but I had read it and loved it and told her so! LOL! Hope you get to meet all of these authors one day soon!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

  8. Great list! I actually did get to meet Ruta Sepetys last year and she was amazing. She had this whole slide show that went over the research that she did for Salt to the Sea. Very impressive. Hopefully, you get to meet some of these authors soon.

  9. Marissa Meyer, yes, yes, yes! I'd love to meet her. J.K. Rowling too of course. I'd also like to meet Rae Carson. I really enjoyed her Girl of Fire and Thorns series.

  10. Agatha Christie has long been one of my favourites - I discovered her books in high school, and have been loving her ever since! I'm particularly partial to her Poriot series, he's just so endearing. :)

  11. I've met several authors and have enjoyed meeting all of them. I met Darynda Jones before I started reading her series and wish I had known about it then (her first book in the series just came out). I probably wouldn't have done much different, but I just wished I knew! :D
