BOOKS FROM THE BACKLOG #18

Hi,

Books from the Backlog is a weekly feature hosted by Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books.

title:
The Overdue Life of Amy Byler
author: Kelly Harms
genre: adult, contemporary, chick lit
published: May 1st 2019 by Lake Union Publishing
my copy: kindle, 328 pages
purchase: Amazon | B&N | Book Depository
Overworked and underappreciated, single mom Amy Byler needs a break. So when the guilt-ridden husband who abandoned her shows up and offers to take care of their kids for the summer, she accepts his offer and escapes rural Pennsylvania for New York City.
Usually grounded and mild mannered, Amy finally lets her hair down in the city that never sleeps. She discovers a life filled with culture, sophistication, and—with a little encouragement from her friends—a few blind dates. When one man in particular makes quick work of Amy’s heart, she risks losing herself completely in the unexpected escape, and as the summer comes to an end, Amy realizes too late that she must make an impossible decision: stay in this exciting new chapter of her life, or return to the life she left behind.
But before she can choose, a crisis forces the two worlds together, and Amy must stare down a future where she could lose both sides of herself, and every dream she’s ever nurtured, in the beat of a heart.

why did I get this. I don't know anymore, to be honest. I can't even remember the synopsis of this.
why is it still in my tbr. never got in the mood to actually download it.

Times like this really happen I guess. I buy an ebook, forget what it's about, then hold it off for who knows until when. This seems like a quick read though so maybe I can get to this at some point this year (especially since I'm planning a month long ebook tbr-thing)

HOW ABOUT YOU
Have you read these books? What do you think of this book? Should I put this at the top of my tbr?

let's connect!

  1. I was just looking at this book, because it's an Amazon deal of the day. I think I would be able to relate to the single mom thing.

  2. I have seen this book around and had to check to see if I had a copy in my account or not (turns out that I don't). I do tend to forget exactly what I have on my ereader.
