The world is not tame.
Ashley knows this truth deep in her bones, more at home with trees overhead than a roof. So when she goes hiking in the Smokies with her friends for a night of partying, the falling dark and creaking trees are second nature to her. But people are not tame either. And when Ashley catches her boyfriend with another girl, drunken rage sends her running into the night, stopped only by a nasty fall into a ravine. Morning brings the realization that she's alone - and far off trail. Lost in undisturbed forest and with nothing but the clothes on her back, Ashley must figure out how to survive despite the red streak of infection creeping up her leg.
The world is not tame.

I've been meaning to read a Mindy McGinnis book (because I've been reading good things about her books)!! So when I got a chance to read it during the Scribd Free Reads period, I just had to try one!!

MAY WRAPUP (aka the month of productivity )

Hi,

Can you believe it's been more than two months since this quarantine started?

I was extra productive then. I read a lot. I drew some stuff. I cleaned my room. I rearranged my shelves. I felt so good about having so much time. After a couple of weeks (maybe three weeks), I started getting into a reading slump. I stopped making art. And as a whole, I just lost motivation.

And probably it's a normal cycle.

Right now though I've been doing a lot of art and a few reading which is kind of nice. So I'd assume I got back to being extra productive. I've scheduled blog posts for June and have been making illustrations. Would really appreciate it if you guys would follow my Facebook page and Instagram account (not that updated but I will get to that soon!!). I try to post my work as much as I can. These are a couple of my stuff,

[REVIEW] Mission 27

title: Mission 27: A New Boss, A New Ballpark, and One Last Ring for the Yankees' Core Four
author: Mark Feinsand; Bryan Hoch
genre: non-fiction, sports
published: June 4, 2019 by Triumph Books
my copy: Kindle edition, 256 pages
purchase: Amazon
rating: 4 / 5 stars

With a mix of homegrown talent and All-Star signings, the 2009 Yankees were comprised of the best. With the previous season's failed playoff bid still as fresh as the paint job on the new Yankee Stadium, a 27th championship flag represented both the floor and the ceiling in the eyes of a squad. It was the last title for the "Core Four"—Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada, and Andy Pettitte—who would each retire over the course of the next five years. It would be the lone title for Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira, A.J. Burnett, and Nick Swisher, each of whom saw memorable peaks and valleys during their time in the Bronx. For CC Sabathia and Brett Gardner, it was their first championship, though the veterans were still in pinstripes as the latest generation of Yankees arrived for what they hope will be the next dynasty. Mission 27 is a thoroughly reported examination of an unforgettable season, packed with interviews with the full cast of key players, team executives, broadcasters, and more.
a great recap of the 2009 Yankees.

I feel that I became a Yankee fan at a perfect time. Disappointing that the Core Four is gone but glad that the Baby Bombers are up. 2019 was a wild and amazing year. And reading this really pumped me up for a World Series caliber season (but I have a bad feeling that the season is cancelled).

15 Book Series I NEED to Finish

Hi,

I'm going through my tbr books and noticed some series I haven't' finished. Thus, I decided to actually list down the series I kind of plan to get through and some of this hopefully this year?

I want to get through book series this year because last year, I was able to get through The Hunger Games trilogy and thought that maybe I can do that again this year. I plan to start this with the Divergent trilogy THEN try to go through the book series with one book remaining for me to read  It's gonna be a wild reading year for me since I do plan to take my reading seriously this year (especially since my 2019 reading was terrible. TERRIBLE!).

APRIL WRAPUP (aka the month of similar days)

Hi,

April is sad. And I don't even want to talk about missing everything again. This quarantine is really, really getting into me.

ANYWAY, the month started well for me reading-wise. I speed through Insurgent and The Silent Patient but after that, I felt that I got stuck with a bad slump. I ended up watching movies and a few anime series in between. I waited for the Dewey's 24hr Readathon and pushed myself to read. I finished and LOVED Ghosted. After that, I got into a really good mood so I picked up It again and I'm reading it. Not THAT fast but still reading it steadily and I think it's going fine 😊

books read

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides | Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth | Love & Luck (Love & Gelato #2) by Jenna Evans Welch | For Whom the Book Tolls (An Antique Bookshop Mystery #1) by Laura Gail Black | Ghosted by Rosie Walsh | Strange Planet (Strange Planet #1) by Nathan W. Pyle
