TimeHopAthon 2018!

Hello,

I'm looking through read-a-thons to participate in because I really, really just want to and found #TimeHopAThon over at BookTube. This one has really easy challenges and I hope I can win this one 😁

Also, if you guys know any read-a-thons, feel free to tell me so I can check them out. I'd love to join book challenges so I can push myself to read more this year. Of course, not much pressure on that but I'd love to get into some of the books that's been sitting on my shelf for so long (also more reason to make fancy tbr posts like this for a chance to talk about/feature books I don't always talk about, hahaha).

things about #TimeHopAThon
- reading challenge runs from February 19th to February 25th
- hosted by Fred Weasley Died Laughing, Cherrie Walker, The Bookish Babbler, Paper Faerie, and Tiny Book Dragon
- the reading challenges are
  1. Past: read a classic or historical fiction
  2. Present: read a book released in 2017/2018
  3. Future: read a book set in the future (i.e. scifi, dystopian, etc.)

Soooo every host said that this is a very chill read-a-thon. They even said you can do double challenges with one book because the Present is a really free/easy challenge. WHILE I am picking books that can help me get away with reading two books for this read-a-thon, I'm still setting myself up for three books (but let's be real, I'll probably end up reading only one or two books πŸ˜…).

I'll have all my updates on twitter which I'll be posting on my weekend reads by the weekend of the read-a-thon 😊

#TimeHopAThon TBR

Wuthering Heights | Emily BrontΡ‘ (Past: read a classic or historical fiction)
This is the classic I'm reading for February although I'm fashionably late because I'm still finishing my January classic (legit-ly shaming myself for this, hahaha). This is a re-read though so I'm quite sure that this is going to be really quick :)
Lincoln in the Bardo | George Saunders (Present: read a book released in 2017/2018)
I'm doubling this book for two challenges (just in case things don't work out my way, hahaha) - Past and Present because this is a historical fiction and it was released in 2017. This could work out, right? RIGHT? Also, I've been hoping to read this book even before it won the Man Booker award, okay? OKAY?
UnBound (Unwind Dystology) | Neal Shusterman (Future: read a book set in the future)
I LOVE the Unwind Dystology and even though I'm not a fan of reading short stories, I bought this one just because I LOVE this series. So it's been sitting on my shelf since I bought it. With this challenge, I wanted something quick so I thought why not go with this book (I was thinking of reading The Last Star by Rick Yancey but I was just not feeling it. Maybe another time).

HOW ABOUT YOU
Are you joining the #TimeHopAThon? If so, what books are on your TBR? Do we have any similarities? Which of these should I read first?

let's connect!

    1. You should read Unwind ASAP! I read it waaaay back in 2009 and it's still my fave book :D

  3. This sounds like a fun challenge. :) If it wasn't for the fact that I just checked out a ton of books from the library that don't really fit these categories I'd probably try and knock it out myself. I love reading challenges and am working on one from Modern Mrs. Darcy and I want to pick a few more up sometime soon. Good luck with your challenge!

    1. Thanks, Jamie! :D I also love reading challenges. I actually plan to join as much as I can this year. I also think it's a really great way to finally pick up books I've been putting off reading.

  4. Oooh, this sounds like so much fun! And it seems to be doable as well ;) I may join as well since I plan to start Artemis by Andy Weir (set in future) and it would fit this challenge perfectly LOL
And I would say start with Lincoln in the Bardo, I haven't read it myself but premise sounds good.

    1. Thanks for that, I'm putting Lincoln in the Bardo at the top of my list then :D I've been eyeing it for so long. Also, it looks like a quick read despite its size. I'd love to read what you think of Artemis. There'd been really mixed thoughts on that one and I'm curious.
