Books from the Backlog is a weekly feature hosted by Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books.
author: Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera
genre: young adult, contemporary, romance
published: October 9th 2018 by HarperTeen
my copy: paperback, 448 pages
Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it.
Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things.
But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them?
Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated.
Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.
But what if they can’t quite nail a first date... or a second first date... or a third?
What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work... and Ben doesn’t try hard enough?
What if life really isn’t like a Broadway play?
But what if it is?
why did I get this. idk. The hype? But it also sounds soooo cute. I'm not a huge reader of LGBT books but I did enjoy Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. So we'll see, I guess.
why is it still in my tbr. tbh, the book itself just looks a bit intimidating to me because it looks thick but after checking just now, apparently it's only 400+ pages. weird. must be the papers. Probably soon.
I never have nor will I ever read a book by Silvera, because some of his comments on Twitter put me off, but I know people love his books. Albertalli has been hit or miss for me, but more good than bad.
ReplyDeleteI was probably off book twitter when that happened. But I'm really more into Becky Albertalli since I enjoyed Simon. I've never read any Silvera books tbh since I was never really interested.
DeleteI haven't read any of his books (I have this one though) because everyone says they are either open ended or sad and my heart can't handle that lol

I have not read any Silvera books since I was never really interested in them. I picked this up because I enjoyed Becky Albertalli's Simon though :)
